I’m testing a new business venture for a specialized niche of services providers.

And as is my habit, the first thing I do is fashion a good, workable telephone script to sense the strength of the market. Yesterday, I attempted to pitch my new offering.

I ran into the typical obstacles, including call screeners that are missing a few dozen I.Q. points, voice mail, and of course, my share of outright rejections.

In a recent article I likened using a “telephone meeting” as a way to bring your sales game to a Super Bowl level.

Phone meetings, also known as telephone appointments, summon our best game. If we obtain a phone meeting with a qualified buyer it is akin to starting from our own end zone and completing a 50-yard play to midfield.

Why is it such a game changer? Three reasons:

I am a motivational speaker,do you think my book is a good read?
Introduction Chapter

Who are we not to achieve success?Who said that we could not overcome struggles that we face? What makes you think that you cant make a difference in somebody else’s life?
We live in a country that is free.Where our motto is one nation, under god, indivisible. We can achieve anything that we want.In the 21st century,we live the impossible dream.Who would’ve ever thought we would have a african american president? Now a days ,anything is possible.Even though we have achieved and progressed so much.We still fail
At times,we as americans dropout. In circumstances we dropout of school, work, and even life. But it is those that prevail regardless the situation, those that get back up and try again. That can call themselves Americans [American Dropouts]

It happens to us all. One day we’re motivated and the next day we’re in the dumps having ourselves a pity party. Staying motivated is not easy. If it were, everybody would do it. But, it can be done. You believe it can be done and that’s why you’re reading this right now – good for you!

You may have felt good about a certain job or project when it began. You were filled with enthusiasm and motivation. The following definitions ofmotivationwere gleaned from a variety of psychology textbooks and reflect the general consensus thatmotivation is an internal state or condition (sometimes described as a need, desire, orwant) that serves to activate or energize behavior and give it direction (see Kleinginnaand Kleinginna, 1981a). You may have fallen into depression and decided to give up. All of those positive thoughts turned into negative ones.

Be Your Own Motivational Speaker!

Copyright (c) 2010 Willie Horton

Do you ever wake up in the morning full of good intentions for the day ahead and find that, by the time that you get to work you’re no longer motivated? Or, maybe, you get off to a flying start but when the first minor distraction or interruption occurs, you go off the rails. Do you ever find that, despite your best efforts, the little voices in your head keep dragging you down? Do you keep finding yourself being internally asked searching questions that make you question either your own ability or the prospects for success? In other words, how easy is it for you to run out of steam? What you need is a little motivation – or a lot!

As someone who has worked in the field of what could generally be described as “self-help” or “personal development” since 1996, I frequently talk at a variety of conferences. My approach is that I leave my audience with a few tips to enable them motivate themselves. I don’t subscribe to the idea that an audience needs to be whipped into a frenzy akin to a revivalist meeting or that the audience should experience some pseudo-spiritual enlightenment. These are charges often levelled against the average motivational speaker – and whilst the experience can be uplifting and eye-opening, more often than not the effects will have worn off long before you find yourself sitting at your desk facing a day of stress and anxiety or the effects will be nowhere to be found when you find yourself, once again, down in the dumps.

Turning Into An Inspirational Speaker

Making things work in a better ways does not always depend upon the person it self. It will also depend up on people around the person and about the inspiration that the person is gaining from people around him/her. Anyone can become an inspiration to anyone when the other person gets attracted or like what the person does and the way by which the person handles a problem or situation. Making someone feel better is also an equally important way to inspire the other person.

Have you ever wondered about how normally people turn out to be an inspirational speaker? It’s all something like a spark of idea. Yes, if you get caught into a problem and turn blank on thinking how to react to that problem, and in a spark you get an idea to come out of the problem. But how does that spark comes out? It is all because of your inner conscious and thought that keeps telling you that you can come out of that problem and turns it in favor for yourself.

In April 2003, Aron Ralston set out for a hike in a remote area of the Utah Canyons. An experienced mountain climber, Ralston planned a trip that, for him, was so easy he didnt tell anyone where he was going or pack enough provisions that would last more than a day. An 800 pound boulder dislodged, sending him crashing down and crushing his hand against the canon wall. Trapped with little hope for a quick rescue, five days later, Aron made the toughest decision of his life: amputate his own arm or face certain death. What you need to know when booking a keynote conference speaker

Making the decision to hire a professional speaker has become far more complex with the advent of the internet. For speakers, the notion of running their businesses without a website would be foolhardy to say the least. The #1 resource for finding a speaker is on-line. For meeting planners, wading through thousands of speaker websites is an overwhelming proposition. How do you know if the speaker is good? Is it enough for people to walk away from a conference feeling excited about the message they just heard? Should you invest in a speaker, celebrity or entertainer? Or, do you utilize the services of an “in-house” expert as a cost-saving option? If you are an association, do you invest in the conference location as a destination event in order to attract your members? Can you afford to do it all? Can you afford not to? So many questions…How can one make the optimum decision for their organization?

Consider these top ten tips when booking a speaker:
