Anyone who thinks sales is about manipulating prospects into buying a product or service need only spend five minutes talking to Steve Schiffman. This 30-year sales training veteran, best-selling author and motivational speaker has spent three decades getting to the heart of the sales process – from cold-calling to closing the sale – and, contrary to popular belief, there is heart in it!

Sales is about helping people do what they do better, Schiffman explains in his sales training programs and executive business coaching. And helping people do what they do better means developing a genuine interest in prospects and asking the right qualifying questions, or what he calls “do-based” questions.

There is nothing better than feeling completely energized and empowered to follow your dreams no matter what. This is what a motivational coach does for you. He teaches you tricks and new ways of seeing your reality that put you in control and give you the tools to move forward in spite of anything. Any one of us would wish we were able to have such a person right at home with us every single day. Imagine that you just wake up every morning and start listening to all this valuable advice and are reminded constantly of your power and capacity. How great, huh? Sadly, in most cases, that is not possible. The majority of us receive coaching for a few days, and afterwards, we are left alone with what we learned to apply it wisely and change our lives, or save it for later inside a desk drawer. The truth is that it is not easy to stay motivated after the coach is gone. Amazingly, the thing that stops people the most after learning how powerful and capable they are, is actually knowing it. Many people feel overwhelmed once they become aware of all the potential they have. These persons have to stop right there and think about all they deserve; it was a huge step to allow yourself to be coached on how to motivate yourself, and now you have to stop thinking about all the hard work this coaching meant so as to feel in control of your life again. Remember that you are a big and creative thinker with amazing goals and expectations, and you are allowed to be afraid of the unknown; just don’t let this fear own you. Motivation is not about not being afraid, it is about acting in spite of fear, because above all, you know you can do it if you just give it a try. You know you have all that is needed to succeed, if you don’t go for it, you will never know how it feels to be powerful, you will never grow, and you will let many worthy opportunities pass you by. If you need more than a little boost to stay motivated, take some time to organize and work on your coaching sessions’ notes. Write down the important points and comments your coach has mentioned. Work it out like a reference book or pamphlet you can check regularly for inspiration, because the key to making a new behavior stick is repetition. The more you hear it and say it to yourself, the more you will begin to make it a part of your reality, until finally it becomes a part of you. It is a good idea to talk to the speaker about your feelings and concerns when the end of your coaching event approaches. As he has done with the rest, the speaker can give you tips on how to tackle those fears as soon as they appear and how to move through them. You can also talk to someone you trust and ask him or her to be your accountability partner. He or she will become a non-judgmental supporter during your ‘weak’ times, someone you can go to every time you feel you want to quit. This person will listen with an open heart and mind. Staying motivated puts you in control of your life, so it is important that you know yourself very well to acknowledge where you need help in order to find it. The motivational coach will open your eyes to the possibilities, but only you can act on them; only you have the ability and power to be your best self. The motivational speaker has shared with you an amazing secret: that you can do anything you dream of; it’s just a matter of dedication and commitment. Become the Leader Your Company Needs. NEED PRAYER FOR DIRECTION?

I have been seeking God’s direction for my life, where I am now, a new position. I told the Lord, I will move anywhere, he knows What job I need and will be good at. A new roommate of mine, moved in and said, she thought I was like a speaker, Christian motivational speaker, like Joyce Meyer. I laughed and wondered where in the world did you get that? She said, I don’t know…I just thought that’s what you did or were. My passion and back experiences have been that of speaking to women’s groups, watching God heal marriages and lives. But not a paid position. I recently was req to come speak in Yosemite on a Customer Service, training. I am looking forward to this as I have prayed God give me the opportunity to speak of you.

I also have been waiting for over 4 weeks for my Fed Tax to come in. Rent due this week, as well as some other bills. I don’t feel fear for some reason. But I am concerned that it may not be here on time. I do know God is always right on time. But it is only a few days away. Stand in faith with me

Life experiences are the vehicles used by motivational speakers. Traveling the highway of life offers people opportunities and challenges that fuel these experiences. Rich histories of lessons learned can and do provide the material that is used in the creating and presenting of work of a motivational speaker. The pace of life is so hectic that seldom do people stop to reflect upon their experiences. Most are too busy to think about how they got to be where they are. Expert motivational speakers take the time and energy to think, feel and become aware of personal stories and events. For some, it is remembering their challenge of climbing Mt. McKinley while for others it is clearing the cob webs in their minds and remembering the challenge of eating lunch in the school cafeteria for the first time. The magnitude is personal and the lessons are individual; each just as important as the next to the owner of the memories.

Expert motivational speakers have the ability to take their audiences vicariously on these “highways of life”. They present with passion and energy. They gesticulate, move about and produce spirit that encompasses a room. Many people can write their stories but not everyone can deliver them. The art of holding an audience captive with no medium other than oneself is a skill mastered only by the best. Part story teller, part entertainer, the expert motivational speaker can bring a room to laughter one moment and on the verge of tears the next. Motivation comes from thoughts and feelings of wanting, of seeing how it could be, of doing what has not been yet done. Expert motivational speakers awaken these thoughts and feelings in their audiences and once done, drive the vehicle through. Those traveling the journey with the speaker oftentimes find themselves ready for a challenge, a change, a new focused purpose or goal. These challenges and changes often are work related but not always. Audiences can be moved to look at personal challenges as well. An expert motivational speaker convinces the listeners to walk away from the keynote presentation or seminar or workshop and take action: action to be productive, action to be held accountable, action to be trustworthy, action to be stronger in purpose and action to admit weaknesses.
